u.a.
:shock:
"At that time there was a lot of experimentation and development happening. We were looking for inspiration from everywhere—even household items. The exhaust end-cans on the RG500 were modified green-tea cans. They looked the correct size, so I introduced this technology into the GP bike. The same tea company made the exhaust cans for the XR14 and updated XR22 model."
108kg bei 124 bhp (= ~125,72 PS)
XR22 (ab 1977/78 ) 494,8ccm (~54x54mm):
==> Leistungsgewicht: ~0,859 kg/PS
==> Literleistung: ~254,08 PS/1000ccm
(1 bhp = 1,01387 PS, also 1bhp ist etwa 1,387 % kräftiger als 1 PS)
Interessant auch die flanschverschraubten Reso-Segmente.
BTW,
schon 1981 war bei Marco Lucchinelli bei der RG500 XR40 "NOVA" (Getriebe) mit an Board, siehe Verkleidung der grün-weißen XR40! Damit
1981 Marco Lucchinelli Weltmeister
1982 Franco Uncini Weltmeister
gesamt 50 1.Plätze, 7x Konstrukteursmeister bis 1986
Was frech ist, dass die beim Umstieg von 133bhp (RG500 square4) auf 145bhp RGV500 V4 (9% Steigerung) kamen, Begründung, square4 limitierte Leistung aufgrund zu kleinem Einlass-Port.
auch:
"
... the original XR14 used a 56 x 50mm bore and stroke, which was changed to 54 x 54mm. The original dimensions gave better power characteristics, but the equal bore was used on the motocrossers, and Suzuki wanted to keep this symmetry despite it not being ideal for roadracing."
XR70RV 1986 (letzter Square4) Skoal bandit hatte sogar noch Membran-Einlässe verbaut!
