The story behind "Circuit Carole" is the following :-
Back in the sixties, this area of Paris was used by bikers to race around illegaly on the road, there were many accidents and many deaths linked to this unofficial racing which the local police seemed unable to control. In the end the government created a circuit, in Paris (next to Charles de Gaule airport), which was financed by the government, and was to be built to prevent and public road racing, hence, to encourage all the youngsters the access to the circuit was free of charge. So any Friday and some weekends (when there is no racing) the circuit is OPEN, although there is a minimum of rules - no loud pipes, taped up glass etc.. The thinking is that at least any MotoGPed up kids can come to the circuit in relative safety, and even if they crash, they will have the normal safety of a circuit. They also run some beginners courses and other safety programs.
The circuit is named after the last person that died in an unofficial race on the roads - her name was Carole!
